Imagine…waking to the calming sounds of the Lake Superior waves as they reach for the sun-drenched shores along the Buffalo Bay Campgrounds. Looking out to the water you see one of the many Apostle Islands. Not many places can claim such a view, and we’re proud to be one of the few!
Bring your RV, travel trailer, or tent (and don’t forget your boat). We have 44 sites with varying amenities. We also offer reasonable rates:

Point Detour Campground
If you’re looking for a more secluded camp-ing experience, Point Detour is your sanctu-ary. Point Detour’s “wilderness” campground offers 24 rustic campsites in a private setting with a beautiful rock landing on the point. This unique campground is located 9 miles north of the Buffalo Bay Campground and Marina on Highway 13 and County Rd K. Point Detour is located across from York Island and on a clear day, you may see Minnesota and Canada across the bay.

Black-Out Days
The following days are our “black-out” days. There will be no discounts on these days and full price will be charged for all services. There is also a 2 day minimum on the following days:
- POW WOW (First full weekend in July)
- MEMORIAL DAY
- 4th of JULY
- LABOR DAY
- APPLE FEST (First full weekend in October)
